It’s all fun and games until someone puts his heart out.

After being outed to his hockey team and then changing schools, Jock figures he’s due for something good—like the sex he missed out on in the closet. Toby, the hot grad student he meets at a frat party, seems like a great place to start, and their night together is an awesome introduction to the fine art of hooking up.

Toby’s heart takes a bruising after the near-perfect experience with Jock leads to . . . nothing. He’s been left on the outside as his friends pair up into blissful coupledom, and he’s in danger of never completing (or starting) his thesis. Can’t something go right?

Then Toby’s coerced into chaperoning a Theta Alpha Gamma trip to France. Not that he’s complaining. What better place to finish his thesis and get over that frat boy? Except Jock’s outing is leaked to the press, turning him into an unwilling gay rights martyr, and he decides France would be a great escape, too. It’s a break from reality for both guys, but they soon find their connection is as real as it gets

Review:  Saving Grace is a western romance set in Montana and San Francisco in the late 1800′s.  The story has lots of adventures and some secrets – some pleasant and some not.  Siblings Matthew and Grace have a strong bond, always looking out for each other growing up.  When Grace runs away to keep safe from Stephen Shay, a horrible person from her past who inflicted much pain on her, Matthew unfortunately isn’t there to protect her.  When she and Adam Morgan cross paths Adam is immediately drawn to give her protection and the space she needs. There is instant chemistry on both sides although Grace fights it all the way and gets ready to flee once again.  Watching Adam treat her like a scared horse to gain her trust and show her he wants to love her and  take care of her in all ways was heartwarming.  Watching Adam’s daughter, Veronica, and Matthew fight their attraction as well was usually comical.  The story line was woven effortlessly between the many characters all who played a strong role. There is  family, extended family, friends, a small town in Montana with ranches and cowboys, laughter, tears, happiness and heartache, romance and love.  There was nice closure and several happily ever afters and this is just the first book in the series.   I can’t wait to read the others.

I have read James’ Alliance of the Amazon series which were fantasies and out of my comfort zone but enjoyed them.  When I was offered to read and review the three books in the Safe Havens series I jumped at it since western romances with strong alpha males is one of my favorite genres.  I was not disappointed.

Favorite Quote:  This home belonged to a wealthy family.  Judging from his age, Adam was the patriarch of that family.

He smelled nice.  An odd thought, but his clean, masculine scent wrapped around her, calming her.  With a resigned sign, she relaxed against him, simply too weak to struggle.  At least that was the fib she told herself.

The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she’s gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor’s nocturnal adventures. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly…

In a delicious mix of silly and steamy, Alice Clayton dishes out a hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight…
