Hi Romancing the Book readers!

Thank you for inviting me to visit Romancing the Book. It’s been a busy six months with my AOE Award nominated ghost story, GATHER THE BONES, coming out in September last year and SECRETS IN TIME in April.  As to what is next… all I can say is I have some irons in the fire and there are plans to have something new out by the end of the year.  To keep up to date with my news, I do have a newsletter which readers are welcome to subscribe to (Click HERE).

I’ve always loved time travel books and SECRETS IN TIME, my venture into this sub genre, was tremendous fun to write. I just didn’t imagine that setting it in 1995 would involve nearly as much research as the “historical” part of the story – know mobile phones, no ipods… As to WHY it is set in 1995 and not 2013…well you might have to read the book itself!

Today we welcome Kerri Williams as she celebrates her Moore Justice series.  Sit back and enjoy this character interview with Claire and Talon from the series.

Kerri: You both have been through so much. What our readers want to know about is, what do you love most about each other that keeps you fighting for love?

claire posterClaire: He likes my ass.

Talon: *laughs. True. I like her ass. But I also love her selflessness. It gets her into a lot of shit, but I’ll be there to pull her out until my last breath.

Claire: Okay, I love his ass too.

Kerri: I heard there might be a Private Investigative business opening up in conjunction with you guys, Frank and the crew. Is this true?

Claire: There are a lot of rumors in facebook, but I can honestly tell you there is definitely more to come.

Talon: That’s right. I just need some time with Claire to lay low. Really low.

Claire: Pg, Talon. Pg!

Today we welcome Alissa Callen to Romancing the Book as she tells us all about her newest release Beneath the Outback Skies.

Paige Quinn will let nothing and no one distract her from caring for her wheelchair-bound father, Connor, and fighting for her remote, drought-stricken property, Banora Downs. Least of all a surprise farm-stay guest named Tait Cavanaugh, whose smooth words are as lethal as his movie-star smile. Except Paige can’t help noticing that, for a city-boy, Tait seems unexpectedly at home on the land. And he does ask a lot of questions…It doesn’t matter how much he helps out or how much laughter he brings into her life, she soon suspects he is harbouring a big secret – the real reason he has come to Banora Downs…

Today we welcome Michele Lang to Romancing the Book as she interviews the Witch of Budapest: Magda Lazarus, the protagonist of her LADY LAZARUS series.

Michele: So tell us who you are and why you have three books written about you?
Magda: What a question to ask a person! I’m just somebody who is trying to save her life and the lives of the people she loves – no matter what the price to me and my soul. I live in Budapest, a terrible war is about to break out this year, 1939, and despite my ties to Count Bathory, vampire lord of Budapest, my position is precarious indeed. My sister Gisele needs me to protect her – our parents are dead – and we haven’t got a pengo to our name.

I am a Lazarus witch, and the Book of Raziel is my inheritance. The Book is lost, but if I find it and claim it for my own I just might be able to invoke the hidden spells within and avert the grim prophecies of war. My quest takes me all over Europe and into the gravest danger. But I have allies, celestial and infernal, and I will stop at nothing to succeed.

desirablepetalsscript020513Good morning!  Today we welcome Barbara Morgenroth to Romancing the Book.  She’s given us a fun interview featuring two of her characters from Unspeakably Desirable.  Bel is the heroine, who you’re going to be learning more about.  Molly is the journalist in the story.  She gets arrested at a swingers club after nagging Bel that Bel leads a boring life.  And here we go…

Molly:  Hi, Bel.  Thanks for granting me this interview.  After the issue with the police and the raid on the club, I haven’t been very popular at the newspaper.  Journalists are supposed to write the news not make it.  This will give me a chance to resurrect myself.
Bel:  And you’re surprised that I prefer a dull life.

Molly:  Do you honestly derive enough excitement simply by making pastries for your business Unspeakably Desirable?
Bel:  Yes, as unbelievable as you find that, it’s true.

Today we welcome Elise K. Ackers as she interviews Cora Pedersen, the female protagonist from her book, The Man Plan.  But first, here’s a little about the book:

Cora is ‘over’ being alone. She has no family, all her friends are couples, and she can’t stand the thought of spending Christmas by herself. Determined to change her life, Cora hatches a plan to find The One.

Just as she decides her strategy, she meets Matt, her downstairs neighbor. They become unlikely friends, with Matt an amused bystander as Cora tries various methods to change her life.

Then something unexpected happens. Matt, who spends his life avoiding commitment, begins to feel jealous of the men Cora is dating and his resolve to never fall in love begins to crumble. Meanwhile, Cora is finding herself increasingly attracted to Matt. It’s shame he has the emotional capacity of a teaspoon, because in every other way he’s perfect for her.

If only the boy next door… No, that’s a dangerous thought.

CB:  Rhys, I’m so glad you could come back and visit with me again.  (Fanning myself a bit, since he’s THAT good looking)
Rhys:  I’m very glad, as well.

CB:  I feel very blessed to have been able to tell the story of how you and Emme came about, but there are a few things that people still want to know:
Rhys:  (Looking a bit nonplussed) There always are. But, I promised Emme I would play nicely, so ask away.

We take a break from our Christmas vacation to welcome Jennifer Estep to Romancing the Book as she celebrates the release of Crimson Frost.  Today, Valerie is interviewing Jennifer about one of her favorite characters, Vic.

Valerie:  Vic is one of the most unexpected characters in this series yet he is actually endearing and brings comedic relief during tense times.
JE: Thanks! Glad you are enjoying Vic. He’s a really fun character for me to write.

Valerie: What was the inspiration for Vic?
JE: Well, since my heroine, Gwen, goes to Mythos Academy, a school for warrior whiz kids, I thought it made sense for her to have some sort of special weapon. Somewhere along the way, I thought it would be cool if the weapon was its own unique character, complete with a face, a voice, and a really snarky personality. So that was sort of the beginning of the idea for Vic.

Today we welcome Suzi Love to Romancing the Book as she interviews the hero of her newest release, The Viscount’s Pleasure House.  But first, here’s the blurb from the book.

Lady Chrissie Wellsby and her two country friends research dozens of rogues before selecting the notorious Viscount Hawkesbury, owner of London’s most exclusive and expensive brothel, to educate them in erotic seduction. The ladies abandon respectability and coerce Justin Tremayne into letting them visit The Pleasure House and to teaching them the sensual tricks mistresses and prostitutes use to entertain men.

Though Justin believes three naive ladies will see the debauched romps in his themed rooms, cover their eyes and ears, and run back to their sheltered lives, he underestimates the desperation of abandoned women who imagine a wider knowledge of sex will keep the men in their lives at home, in their own beds. But despite watching several of their friends, men and women, perform raunchy acts at his brothel, the ladies insist on participating in the last of Justin’s infamous Sultan’s galas, held in numerous silk tents and outdoor bathing areas on his estate.

Justin concedes to Chrissie’s demands only to gain information about his long-lost mother and sisters, but the world-weary viscount falls head over heels in love with his emotionally bruised pupil. He yearns for a wife, children, and an uncomplicated wife, but can he convinced Chrissie to take a chance and marry again? Because Justin never wants to leave her bed.

Hi Everyone. Thank you for joining me. I have Chase Stanton, hero of Book 3 in my Coded for Love series with me today.  He is a team member of the Program, a group of genetically enhanced soldiers working for the US government.

Lynne: Hi Chase, thanks for taking the time to sit down with me today. I know things are pretty hectic on the Program campus.

Chase: Hectic is right. Between hunting for Paulson and dealing with the media circus, things have been wild, with a capital W. I guess we really freaked the American public out when news of our existence came out. You’d think they’d be excited medical science had advanced enough to create genetically enhanced soldiers. But nah, everyone’s freaking out, or demanding the same treatments for their own kids.

Lynne: Do you think that’d be good thing? Wouldn’t you want your child to be genetically enhanced?
