The Historical Romance Retreat was once again in my hometown of Spokane and there was no way I could pass up attending this awesome event. If you’re a fan of historical romance, this is one event that you’ll want to look into attending. The organizers, Delilah Marvelle and Renee Bernard, have ensured that this is a reader-centric event. And fun is had by all.
Below are most of the pictures that I took during the Historical Romance Retreat. You’ll want to search Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for the hashtags #hrr17 and #hrr2017 to get even more pictures.
Oh, and they announced that next year’s retreat will be held in Riverside CA in mid September 2018. Time to start saving!
Day 1 – September 27
The first day was mostly reserved for registration. All the attendees received their goodie bags and all the other information they’d need for the retreat. Later in the evening, there was a welcome reception when all the authors were introduced. I attempted to take photos of each of the authors, and every single one came out blurry. *sigh* On the plus side, I did get a couple photos from an outing to Manito Park that I took with a couple other reader/bloggers.

Day 2 – September 28
So, day 2 also happened to be my birthday. I started the day with a breakfast with several authors and readers. Then I attended a couple classes, including a hat making event hosted by Eloisa James. We then enjoyed a low tea. I ended the day with dinner with a couple of my friends (not attending the event… remember, I’m local to Spokane) and then a movie at the Bing Crosby Theater.
Day 3 – September 29
Day 3… well, I overslept and missed the classes that were held. I suppose I can blame “partying” too much on my birthday. Friday night was the Gambling Night and Absinthe & Abigails events. I actually missed both of these events as well. I’ve been enjoying the photos on Instagram and Facebook. I encourage you to look them up… they look fun!
Day 4 – September 30
Saturday brought us the Book Signing and Grand Ball. My nephew joined me at the book signing to be my photographer while I was busy collecting signatures.
Day 5 – October 1
The final day of the Historical Romance Retreat, we met for a breakfast before saying goodbye.
