Wicked intrigue unfolds as an unlikely marriage leads to a path of risky desire in the lush, green Scottish Highlands.

Born into riches and groomed in English luxury, Margot Armstrong didn’t belong in a Scottish chieftain’s devil-may-care world. Three years ago she fled their marriage of convenience and hasn’t looked back—except to relive the moments spent in wild, rugged Arran McKenzie’s passionate embrace. But as their respective countries’ fragile unity threatens to unravel, Margot must return to her husband to uncover his role in the treachery before her family can be accused of it.

Red-haired, green-eyed Margot was Arran’s beautiful bride. Her loss has haunted him, but her return threatens everything he has gained. As the Highland mists carry whispers of an English plot to seize McKenzie territory, he must outmaneuver her in games of espionage…and seduction. But even as their secrets tangle together, there’s nothing to prevent love from capturing them both and leading them straight into danger.

Review: From the beginning I was captivated by Arran. I have a soft spot for a good story about a burly sexy Scot. I simply can’t get enough of the vivid imagery of the Highlands.

Margot spoiled little English rich girl married to a Scot from the Highland no less.
Neither really wants to get married. Margot is to spy for England. But being a lady the Highlands took some getting used to. Things weren’t at all what she was used to.
She runs home only to realize that she misses Arran.

Secrets…always spoil a good thing. Compromise works… HEA…oh yeah! Hot…

I found the characters to be very likable and well written. Margot to me at first was a little naive. But, to her credit she was raised as a rich spoiled English Lady. Refined…didn’t know much else. But as her eyes became opened in Arran’s arms she soon learned what love, passion and being cherished was like. Things in the Highlands may have been a little rougher around the edges than what she was used to but it is easy to adapt to anything and anywhere when you are with the right person.

As for Arran, he like most men would prefer to be left alone. But, the chemistry and the flames between these two was just a little too ignore. Differences aside… the right one makes you realizes what you are missing. Even with the secrets…sometimes those just add to making things even hotter.

Margot and Arran were easy to relate to once you got past the secrets and lies. The passion and warmth of their new found love would make even the hardest of souls know that there is always hope…for love.

Ms. London brings life to the Highlands with her new series as she soon has you laughing, crying, and not wanting to put this story down with the richness she brings to the Highlands and the Scots that live there.
