You can never have enough of quality glassware for your home, especially when it is double-wall glasses – not only do they look great, but they are multi-functional!

Main Features of Double Wall Glasses

Made using borosilicate glass
Ordinary glasses contain a mix of quartz, sodium carbonate and calcium carbonate, while borosilicate adds boron to the composition. It helps to strengthen the glass and make it extremely lightweight, also rendering it heat-resistant – with quality better than traditional glass. It is blown by sophisticated techniques that are responsible for its toughness.

Sturdy and robust structure
This type of glassware is resistant to scratches, chips, and nicks with a lower percentage of breakage than single wall glasses due to the powerful borosilicate glass utilized during manufacture. These glasses are dishwasher safe, and since their thermal resistance capacity is quite high, they are unaffected by microwave heat as well. You could also store them in the freezer safely, without cracking or breaking.

Great stability
The glasses have superior stability so they can be used for both hot and cold beverages -from a fancy frozen dessert to hot coffee. The insulation is excellent, so it retains both hot and cold temperatures for a very long time. Moreover, the glass doesn’t get cloudy or murky with time, unlike its conventional counterparts.

Everyday use
These glasses look exquisite and fancy, but can be used on a daily basis. The insulation properties ensures that heat or cold can’t penetrate through the walls, so you won’t feel the temperature against your palm which is a great added benefit for kids.

Perfect Gift
The next time you wrack your brains trying to come up with a great present, just buy a set of double wall glasses – they will surely appreciate this practical gift.

Review:  When the request to review these glasses came across my desk, I was intrigued.  It’s not that I needed any new glasses.  But, when I saw the pictures of items other than drinks being used, I thought that this could be a great way to portion control desserts.  So, I grabbed a set of the 8 oz glasses to review.

My first thought when I got the box in the mail was how lightweight the package was.  I suppose I could’ve read the product description a little better to know that I wasn’t getting traditional glass, but some sort of composite that makes them lighter and more durable.  My first thought upon opening the box is that it was plastic, but they really aren’t.  I ran my hands across the glasses and found them to be quite smooth.

The first thing I did was run them through the dishwasher.  They came out with flying colors.  They weren’t tossed about the dishwasher, flipping upside down as many cups (especially lightweight ones) can do.  Now that I knew they were clean, it was time to start using them.

The first thing I did was scoop up some ice cream.  The 8oz cup can hold about 2 scoops, which is perfect for the aforementioned portion control.  While eating the ice cream, the curve of the cup made it easier to hold and the double walls kept the exterior from getting too cold to hold.  My next test was to drink a cold drink on a warm day.  The double walls kept the cup from sweating and making a mess on my table, but also kept the drink colder for longer.

I have placed the cups in the freezer, but I am hesitant to use it in the microwave.  Partially since I’m not a hot drink person, but also I think just a plain fear of grabbing a hot glass.  But I don’t really have a need to use them in the microwave, but it looks like other reviewers had no problems there, so I’d take their word for it.

All in all, I’ve been happy with my glasses.  I do think they’re a little over priced, but they are good quality.  I’m actually looking forward to having a dinner party and using the glasses for a sophisticated looking dessert.
