Playlist & Contest: Andrea Laurence

Today we welcome Andrea Laurence to Romancing the Book.  Before we get to her playlist, let’s learn a little about her and her newest release.

ANDREA LAURENCE is an award-winning author of contemporary and paranormal romance. She has been devouring books since she learned to read at the age of 3. An old portable typewriter got her started writing in her room at 10 and she’s been writing ever since. Her practical nature led her to pursue a master’s degree and a career that would pay the bills, but the writing bug continued to bite.

After eight years and 11 completed manuscripts, she finally made the leap and got ‘the call’ from Harlequin Desire on May 31, 2011. From there, she’s never looked back with a long list of writing credits since that day.

The CEO’s Unexpected Child released on March 1, 2016.  Here’s the official blurb:

A shocking fertility clinic mix-up has resulted in Luca Moretti fathering a child with a woman he’s never met. There’s no way the CEO will walk away from his baby girl. But he has 30 days to convince her distractingly beautiful mother to do exactly what he wants.

Widow Claire Douglas is still reeling from the loss of her husband when she discovers a stranger has fathered her child. And the rich bachelor will stop at nothing to gain joint custody. How can she possibly fight a man with such money and power—and a charm she can’t resist?

Admittedly, this playlist is a little all over the place. I listen to a lot of different genres of music and it all comes together into a crazy playlist. Luca and Claire have a complicated and untraditional relationship, and not one that I think has been captured in the perfect song. I tried to find songs that represent their hurt in the past, their willingness to move forward, and finally to fall in love.

  1. Natasha Persaud says:

Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift that’s the song that best describes my relationship right now

  2. Leanna says:

If you love it put a ring on it. I have been with my boyfriend for five years, ready to get married.

  3. JoAnne Weiss says:

Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce
It was the song played by the band for our first dance at our wedding.
Every time I hear it it brings back lots of memories. It will be 35 years in July!

  4. Anything by The Fratellis accurately describe many of my past relationships. Rebellious, slightly prideful, but in a vulnerable way. Love them!
