Review: I thought that this was a rather cool concept for an autobiography. After all who would think to let you the reader choose how you would like to see their story end. I think I might try the Pasta with Bolognese Sauce…or the cocktail.
In Neil Patrick Harris fashion, I found that this was very imaginative and innovative. I really had fun just picking things randomly. If I didn’t like how they ended I could start all over again and choose something different. Mr. Harris is a very personable actor. You either like him or you don’t. In his autobiography he gets personal letting you into his life in a light hearted way. He begins with life as Doogie and ends up on Broadway. I loved how he told his story, you could actually feel his heart within the pages of this book.
Mr. Harris, while giving me insight into his life, also brought in so much humor that you felt as if you were the audience watching him act out each part that you chose to read and when you finished and came to the end I liked that I could start over only to find another end just as fun as the last. He made me laugh…forgetting what was bothering me that day. This is a must have book for any home library. This is a fun book read over and over.
Whether you loved Doogie or you love Barney, I think you will love just plain old Neil. Grab a couple of your favorite cocktails and have an enjoyable time finding out about Neil and his husband and kids.
I don’t want to give to much away. You need the chance to choose your own story or two perhaps.
