Interview: Cara Downey

CaraDowney1Jen:  Today we welcome Cara Downey back to Romancing the Book.  Cara, will you share a short bio with us?
Cara: Cara Downey is from North Preston, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in Canada. She is a graduate from Saint Mary’s University and University of Kings College. She is an avid reader of erotic romances and thrillers.  She loves to dish on twitter and via email with her favorite authors about their current and upcoming novels, and anyone else who will chime in.  She loves to interact with readers on Facebook and Twitter.  You can always find Cara on twitter@cara_downey

Jen: Please tell us about your newest release and where the idea came from.
Cara: Boundaries of the Heart is the box set of my entire erotic poetry collection. I was initially inspired to write Boundaries after reading Maya Banks’ Sweet Series. I was captivated and I found myself relating to the characters in each story (smiles). I decided to pursue my dream of becoming an author while writing down and exploring my own desires. In the process of writing the third book in the series, I discovered a lot about myself and I’m more confident.

Until February 12, 2016, the book can be downloaded for free at

Jen:    Describe your most romantic date.
Cara:   I have yet to experience a romantic date.

Jen: What is your breakfast food?
Cara: My breakfast food consists of a bowl of cereal and two Pillsbury toaster strudel’s (strawberry).

Jen:  Favorite movie?
Cara: Oh that’s an easy one (smiles big)… my favorite movie is Jack Reacher. I maybe a little bias because Tom Cruise is my Hollywood crush (smiles).

Jen: Favorite rainy day activity?
Cara: My favorite activity to do on a rainy day (if I’m not working on a new story) is to read or put on a movie.

Jen: Who is your hero?
Cara: My mom!

Jen: What is the signature dish you’re known for?
Cara: (Tilts head back laughing) I’m not known for a signature dish… unless you can say I’m a master at cooking pancakes.

Jen: What do you collect?
Cara: Can movies be a collection? I only say that because I think I might be part of the small majority who’s still buying movies on dvd.

Jen:  If you could travel in time, where’d you go?
Cara: Oh… that’s a hard one, I honestly can’t say.

Jen:  Where is your favorite place to read?
Cara: I love reading in bed… I fluff my pillows and wrap up in a blanket with my book/ereader in hand.

Jen:  Fries or onion rings?
Cara: I prefer both.

Jen:  Tropics or mountains?
Cara: Huh… I’m going to go with tropics because I am afraid of heights.

Jen:    Drama or musical?
Cara: Both… I’d love to see a musical live and nothing can compare to watching a great drama film or play.

Jen: What’s next for you?
Cara: I’m going to focus on my new series Harris Tower. Its completed and I can’t wait for everyone to finally meet Sean and Shervon. I put my heart and soul into the characters and I hope my growing reader/fans love it.
