Review:  I’m always on the lookout for a good water bottle.  I drink water all day long while at work and I need something that closes to prevent accidental spills at my computer desk.  So, when the request to review this bottle came up, I decided to give it a try.

The bottle was well packaged, which I was glad to see since this is a glass bottle.  It comes with a glass insert into a plastic tube and then the bottom and top caps.  The bottom cap is just to hold in the glass insert.  The top cap is a flip top and also has a locking mechanism.  It also has a handy handle for carrying or perhaps attaching to a backpack.

First thing I did when I got my bottle was take it apart and place it in the dishwasher.  It took me a while to figure out how exactly to take it apart.  This would be my fault because I didn’t see the instructions right away as they are printed on the backside of the paper insert.  Once it was apart and cleaned, then it was time to test it out.

I’m not a hot beverage drinker, so I’ll admit that I didn’t test that.  But, it did keep my ice water relatively cold.  Keeping water cold in an office environment is relatively easy.  So, I took it out to a soccer game on a hot summer day and by the end of the game, I still had some ice.  And there was no sweating on the outside of the bottle… it was all contained within the double walling.

My only real complaint has to do with the design.  The bottle is a little too tall and narrow and the opening on the top is difficult to fill with an ice machine or ice maker.  Hand filling with ice cubes is fine, but the bottle doesn’t really fit in the openings of a fridge that has ice and water dispensing in the door.

That said, it holds two cups of water and is easy to carry around.  I’ve not had any issues with breaking or leaking, so I’ve been happy with my Glasstic.  I was also pleased to get an email after “purchase” that allowed me to get a free cap, base and bottle brush.  This was a nice extra perk and allows me to change out my black bottle caps for gray when the mood strikes.
