Four weeks of giving into the desire he’s suppressed for so long–four weeks of bliss and then they’ll go their separate ways. But things aren’t always what they seem, and when rescuing a damsel, or making a deal with her, one must always be prepared for the consequences.
Seven Royal Guard, a Beast, a kingdom in chaos, and a girl as pure as the driven snow…Will they find their Happily Ever After?
Review: Always one for a good HEA story. Snow White was a story growing up that I related to. Well, okay not exactly but close. Ms. Van Dyken finishes her Fairytales series with When Ash Falls. She gives us a different telling of an old fairytale with a new twist; just as she did with her other stories in this series.
Ashton Wolfbane for the past ten years has been known as the Grimm Reaper. He was in love with his brother’s wife having watched her die, he decided to give up sex. What better way to not think about so called things is to become a hit man…devoted to justice and death for those wrong/evil doers? For a change of pace he is asked to tote Princess Sophia around (Snow in this story) who is escaping the clutches of her evil step-mom. She is need of a rich Lord with connections.
Ms. Van Dyken threw two people together that you just knew weren’t right for each other making them see that they really worked. She makes Sophia someone who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. A big difference from the Snow we know and love. I loved the way Ms. Van Dyken shows that a pretty face can weaken even the strongest of men. Temptation…
The characters were very likable as you felt their plight. It was easy to relate to them in a modern sense even if it were in a regency setting. I love the effortless way in which Ms. Van Dyken brings dialogue to life. She makes it easy to become involved.
It was still a very well written fun filled story of Snow…oops…Ash and Sophia.
This story held me captive with the fun, suspense and promise of a HEA. It was a story filled with hope. You might want to grab your favorite beverage and settle in because you may find you become relaxed not wanting to do anything until you finish the story.
