It’s all fun and games…until someone’s heart is broken.

They’re not kids anymore, but Milo Caro is certain that Colton Mathews will only see her as his best friend’s little sister for the rest of their lives. After all, he made that clear the night before she left for college. But four years later, her brother is getting married and Colt’s the best man—and guess who is the best man’s last-minute date?

Milo vows to use the wedding to either claim the smoldering firefighter’s heart or douse this torch for good. When Max—her best friend from college, who may be carrying a torch of his own—crashes the party, they devise a plan to make Colt see what he’s missing. But after Colt catches on, he decides to cook up his own revenge.

Now it’s personal. Colt and Milo are at war, and between Max’s questionable acting methods, an unfortunate trip to jail, and a maniacal fiancée, what could possibly go right?

Review:   I have to say I haven’t found a Rachel Van Dyken book that I haven’t liked.  I’ve been so caught up with Seaside and those Mafia boys that I just didn’t see this book coming.

The Consequence of Loving Colton is told from the point of view of Milo the female lead and the sister to the groom that will be getting married this weekend.  I have to say that I have not laughed so hard at a book in so long, it felt so good.  The chemistry between all of the characters was out of this world.  People who didn’t even know each other before Milo’s trip home for her brother’s wedding, blend right in with the rest of the group just like they have always been there.

I was on the edge of my chair the entire book.  I could just not wait to see what craziness would happen next, what off the wall comment Max would make and how was grandma finally going to get to Reid!!!  Make sure plenty of tissues are on hand when reading this book, and it’s not because it is a tear jerker either.  It is just so funny I had myself in tears I was laughing so hard at some points.

This was an amazingly fast read and I was sorry to see it end.  However there will be other books coming in the series. The next book in the series is The Consequence of Revenge which is Max’s story.  I can tell you right now from all of the craziness that I read in this book I will be in line waiting for the release of the next one.  I just can not get enough of this group of friends and family, and I would like to hear a little more about Colton and Milo.
