The rogue’s life has been good to William Somerhall: He has his fortune, his racehorses, and his freedom. Then he moves in with his mother. It seems the eccentric Dowager Duchess of Worth has been barely skirting social disaster-assisted by one Miss Jenna Hughes, who is far too bright and beautiful to be wasting her youth as a paid companion. Now home to keep his mother from ruin, William intends to learn what’s afoot by keeping his friends close-and the tempting Miss Hughes closer still.

He’s tall, dark, and damnably intelligent-unfortunately for Jenna. She and the duchess are in the “redistribution business,” taking from the rich and giving to the poor, and it’s going great – until he shows up. But even as William plots to make an honest woman out of her, Jenna will use all her wiles to reveal just how bad a rogue he can be . . .

Review: I decided to read this novel because the mischief look upon the young woman’s face and on the cover design lead me wondering what kind of mischief she was up to doing. Plus, the tile, A Good Rogue is Hard to Find got me curious as to how this mischievous woman finds a good rogue or does she? Also, a historical romance always draws me into a novel.

The characters are enjoyable to read. Such as the rogue who comes home to visit his mother not because he’s looking forward to it but because it’s his duty to check up on her and to his horror finds people running out of his mother’s place. Yelling that his mother is crazy. And then there are the chickens running around and …a snake! The snake was given to his mother as a gift from a family relative. The rogue is angered by the state of his mother and how the house was being run. And then to add to the mix, is his mother’s companion. The one woman who the rogue was interested in last time they meet which was at a party. When he sees her, he is transfixed by her beauty and loses his tongue. The characters are funny, witty, and strong.

The chemistry between the the rogue and his mother’s companion send out sparks all over the place. But are just as attracted to the other as the other one is to the other. But they try as hard as they can to put out the fire of desire they feel when around each other. It’s funny to read how they try not to be attracted to each other but they humanly desire of one another breaks out and then they can’t control what they feel and must have more.

A Good Rogue is Hard to Find by Kelly Bowen is fast-paced and thrilling. There’s a new adventure and new troubles with each turning page. Characters were believable. The plot is addictive to read and hard to put down. I had to continue reading the entire novel from beginning to end. I couldn’t get enough of the humor or the hot desire and the intrigue as I read through the compelling story. The story overall was very interesting and highly original. Readers will love this fresh new voice in historical romances. I would indeed highly recommend reading this brilliantly well written novel to readers world-wide. I look forward to reading more novels by Kelly Bowen in the future. Her writing has a way of luring readers to words.
