Review: I have a 50 pound pooch that loves to chew through our wooden fence in order to escape into our neighbor’s yard. Our neighbor has 2 huge pitbull dogs that do not enjoy his company tied up in the back yard so it is not the safest option for him to be playing over there. I decided to try the Petrainer Pet916 in hopes that it would not only keep him from getting injured while trying to be social but to also stop destroying our fence.

The first day I tried the Petrainer Pet916, my pooch decided to attempt an escape. What are the odds? After making the collar buzz and vibrate, he still didn’t get the hint to back off. I set the remote to 50% power and hit the button. That did the trick! He has only tried to chew our fence two other times since the first incident but he hasn’t done it since.

I have tried one other training collar and I didn’t get results. He completely ignored the shock when it was set on 100% with the other brand. I really like that the Petrainer Pet916 is so easy to use and effective. The kit came with a charger, two different sized prongs, a nice sturdy remote, the collar and the shocking device that attaches to the collar. It also had a small plastic piece that is used to test the shocking power of the device. It has a light in the middle that lights up when the button is pressed. I love that it has 4 different settings instead of just “shock”. It can buss, vibrate static, light up, and shock. Changing the settings is as simple as pressing a button. It holds a charge for quite a while which really surprised me because the last collar had to stay on the charger every single night.

The only negative thing I noticed was the collar itself, not the device. It is made of a plastic material so it can be cut to fit different sized dogs. However, my smaller dog loves to chew on it. He has chewed off about 3 inches so far.

I have already recommended the Petrainer Pet916 to some of my family and friends. I would definitely recommend this to other people having issues with training their dog(s) as well. They do offer an option to buy an extra collar and they will both work with the same remote. It is very easy to switch from collar 1 to collar 2.
