Jen: Please help me welcome Amy Smolcic to Romancing the Book. Amy, will you share a short bio with us?
Amy: I’m a 21 year old student from Melbourne, Australia. I love writing everything from poems, stories, and articles. You can find me at:
Jen: Please tell us about your newest release and where the idea came from.
Amy: I was originally writing another book, but then I randomly stumbled across a documentary called Picture Me, and it inspired me to write the book.
Here’s the blurb for Someone Like You:
She has walked on the catwalks of every major designer and earned enough money to live comfortably for ten lifetimes. Country girl, Chloe Jackson, has hit it big.
However, all that glitters isn’t gold and beneath the lights and glamour is a dark world.
Jaeger Colton dreams of greatness. He and his band relocated to New York City with the hope of making it big. But with their record contract being cancelled, his dream has been put on hold. With the disappointment, will he chase the dream he desperately wants?
When their worlds collide, can Jaeger help Chloe pick up the pieces? Or, will it be up to Chloe to transform her broken life?
Jen: Who are some of your favorite authors?
Amy: Paige Toon, Alexandra Potter and Lauren Layne are some of my favourite romance authors. I also love dystopian literature and enjoy Aldous Huxley and John Wyndham.
Jen: Are you a plotter or pantser?
Amy: I’m a plotter! I love brainstorm and planning, but I think it’s a bad habit. Constantly plotting can be very time consuming.
Jen: If this book was made into a movie, who do you see playing the main characters?
Amy: For Chloe I would choose Jessica Biel, and for Jaeger’s part I would choose Jamie Dornan, even if 50 Shades has already claimed him 🙂
Jen: What do you do in your free time?
Amy: I love listening to music and going to gigs!
Jen: What’s next for you?
Amy: I’m currently a book blogger and have been for 2 years on my site From The Purple Matter, so I’m going to continue with that. I write for many other sites too. Also. I’ve started writing another book and I’m hoping to release it either this year or next year.
