Compared to the adult pulse oximeters, the children pulse oximeter is also designed to be more tolerable to finger movements without comprising on accuracy. In addition, the children pulse oximeter also features a plethysmograph that indicates blood flow.
Review: I really like this product. It is so simple to use and very consistent with the results. Both of my children are afraid of medical equipment. When I opened the package for the Acc U Rate Fingertip Pulse Oximeter, both of them were ready to try it out. Neither of them were scared to try it. They loved the polar bear on the front.
The box it came in was very simple. No hard plastic to break through before I could actually try it. It was also in a little small carrying case, which is very convenient if I plan on taking it out of the house. It also has a lanyard that attaches to the top. Great for nurses!
It comes with two AAA batteries which are very easy to put in. The Fingertip Pulse Oximeter has a see through silicone protective case around it. It is easy to operate the oximeter with thus cover on. The digital screen is covered with a clear plastic strip protecting it from scratches. The plastic is easily removed. The digital screen is easy to read and you can change the display around so you can read it from any direction. The brightness can be changed also.
I tried really hard to find something I didn’t like about this product. However, after dropping it on the ground a few times, letting the kids play with it, using it on all 4 members of my family and inspecting it for about 2 hours, I couldn’t find anything! I really love it. The only time I got an inaccurate reading was when I shook my hand really hard while wearing the oximeter. It really took a lot for the reading to change but with vigorous shaking, it did change. My two year old bounced around while she was wearing it and the reading never changed.
For the price, I expected a cheap, poor quality product. I didn’t expect a high quality product like this. I will be telling my children’s doctor about this oximeter and suggesting it to my nurse friends.
