In the sleepy village of Hawcombe Prior, five young ladies of the local book society are reading a salacious romance called Pride and Prejudice. Upon finishing the book, the ladies race to find their own Mr. Darcy, and the handsome, mysterious Darius Wainwright is the perfect mark.

Justina Penny can’t understand why her fellow Belles are starry-eyed in the newcomer’s arrogant presence. But if the town’s only eligible bachelor marries anyone, it should be her sweet, beautiful sister. And it’s up to Justina to make it happen. How could this plan possibly go wrong?

Review: Let’s take a trip to Hawcombe Prior. Where I think you will find yourself laughing out loud. So you may want to watch who is around when you read this or maybe just keep them wondering…

If you are a fan of Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice you will enjoy Ms. Fresina’s take on the classic. Everyone looks for their own Mr. Darcy with Justina being no different.

I loved the book club…where you find a group of woman not unlike you and your friends. These ladies were not afraid to get to the bottom of the books that they read. They weren’t of money so they usually only had one copy of the book…but when it came time for discussion…no topic was taboo. There were plenty of discussions about sex.   They were far from the prim and proper ladies of the era. I think that this enhanced the books enjoy ability factor. One said discussion centered on the reasoning why it is better to be a mistress than to be married. So very funny…I won’t give too much away.

There were leaking boats…rescuing a pig… pink silk garters…which is where Justina’s Mr. Darcy comes in. Darius the catch of the town, every mother with marriage on the brain wanted him for her eligible daughter. But, he was fascinated with Jussy and her rather unusual way of making life a little less boring shall we say. Jussy had just the way of turning stodgy Darius’ world upside down. She certainly makes you laugh.

I loved the sensual banter between the two, with all the teasing that just keeps building while you wait for everything to explode. Although there wasn’t much sex there was everything else that was just enough to make it satisfying.

I really enjoyed Jussy and Darius along with the pig and the girls from the book club. A really heartwarming story that was entertaining. It kept you so amused that you want more. I can’t wait to see what adventure happens next for these naughty girls in the book club.

Great read…you won’t be disappointed and you will want more….
