New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde returns to Cupid, Texas, and asks the question: Do you ever forget your first love?

Melody Spencer had long-ago wiped the dust of Cupid, Texas, off her cute shoes . . . and done her best to forget the chiseled jaw and strong arms of cowboy Luke Spencer. Their families might be part of a long-time feud, but he was her very first love, even if it turned out they never wanted the same things.

But now Luke’s come striding back into her life, tempting her with the memories of long, lazy evenings and hot, passionate kisses. And he has an ulterior motive—as Mayor of Cupid, he knows Melody’s business savvy can help save their beloved hometown. His smooth talking might get her to Texas, but that doesn’t mean he’ll get her in his bed. Still, people do say love can be perfect the second time around . . .

Review: I have read other books by Lori Wilde and I’m glad I was able to read another for review. It is the first book I have read of this series and I definitely need to go out and get the others from this series. I love romance novels that have cowboys in them. I’m not sure if it is because I want to have my own farm or if it is because you don’t see cowboys in the city I live in.

The premise of this story is so cute and different. I loved Luke. I loved how he loved his town and family so much. The feud between his family and Melody’s family needed to stop. He was willing to risk everything for her. But was she willing to do the same??

You could see the dynamics of the small town. How they all wanted to pull together to ensure the town they loved survived. Melody had a lot of bad luck lately when it came to her love life and her career. She was such a great character. She knew what she wanted and what she needed to do to get things done.

From the other couples present in this story I really need to go and read the first three in the series. I was not lost while reading this book and it could be read as a standalone. Wilde does a fantastic job at creating characters that are totally lovable and ones that you want to learn more about.

The love story between Melody and Luke is a timeless one. First loves often need to be re-explored as adults to make sure it was not just a summer romance. I liked learning about the couple and seeing how they fell for each other again.
