He’s a High-Octane Special Ops Pro

When Special Forces Captain Landon Donovan is pulled from an  op in Afghanistan, he is surprised to discover he’s been hand-picked for a  special assignment with the Department of Covert Operations (DCO), a secret  division he’s never heard of. Terrorists are kidnapping biologists and he and  his partner have to stop them. But his new partner is a beautiful, sexy woman  who looks like she couldn’t hurt a fly—never mind take down a terrorist.

She’s Not Your Average Covert Operative

Ivy Halliwell is no kitten. She’s a feline shifter, and more  dangerous than she looks. She’s worked with a string of hotheaded military guys  who’ve underestimated her special skills in the past. But when she’s partnered with  special agent Donovan, a man sexy enough to make any girl purr, things begin to  heat up…

Review:  From beginning to end, author Paige Tyler hits all the right spots with Her Perfect Mate, the first in her new paranormal series. Starting with a fresh storyline, she builds a solid cast of characters as a foundation. Landon Donovan is an ideal military Alpha with the bonus attribute of actually being an awesome guy. He’s smart enough to appreciate the skills that shifter Ivy Halliwell brings to the table without feeling threatened. Having two strong main characters definitely adds to the book’s appeal.

If you want excitement, just sit back and watch as their missions unfold. High octane energy coupled with a scorching attraction is enough to ensure you will stick with the story until the last page is turned. Tyler’s writing style puts the emphasis on the storyline rather than adding fluff around physical encounters. The heat level is an added bonus to an already top-rated book. Pulling together such a well-developed piece of work only emphasizes how talented the author is. She gets her point across in a very tasteful way while ramping up the interaction between the characters.

As someone who reads a lot of provocative fiction, I have encountered plenty of books that don’t even come close to setting off a spark. A hot guy on a book cover doesn’t guarantee the contents will  be worthy. With Her Perfect Mate, you  might as well throw in some towels and a fire extinguisher because the book is simply that good.

I am adding Paige Tyler to my permanent “must read” list. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.
