Our love is on his terms. He contacts me only through notes − unpredictable and untraceable. When we meet, he can touch me, but I’m not allowed to touch him. When we make love, it’s only after I have been bound and blindfolded. It’s the only time I truly feel alive. Which is why I play along with it. For now.

Caden Thaine is the most sinfully beautiful man I have ever seen. But more than that, his touch sets me on fire. And dear God, do I ache for him. I don’t know where he lives or even what he does. But this doesn’t scare me. My only fear is that one day his messages will stop.

I know he’s hiding something. But that’s okay. I am hiding things too. Like my real name and… who I really am. But the deeper I fall for him, the stronger my curiosity becomes.

I could never have imagined just how much our lives are bound. And that pulling at his tangled web of secrets would cause my own dark past to come back to try and reclaim me. Will we survive? Will our love?

Review:  Bound by Lies is the first book in the Bound series by Hanna Peach. This book had an interesting premise and I wanted to know how it turned out. In addition, this is a new author for me and I wanted to try a new author.

Kitten is living in a new town under a new name hiding and running from her ex. Kitten while not looking for someone new stumbles upon Caden who manages to interest her. Kitten is interested in who Caden really is and on the hunt for information about him. Kitten trusted Caden enough to control how they had sex (she was not allowed to touch him).

Caden is a complex man who is supposed to be a dominate but comes across more like someone in a role that does not fit well. He pushes for control and even resorts to threats of leaving Kitten if she touches him but he never seems at ease with himself. He also frustrated me by his lack of trust in Kitten while she is supposed to trust him.

The chemistry between Caden and Kitten is lack luster. Kitten was enthralled in Caden but I had a hard time believing that Caden actually liked Kitten in return. The sex was interesting and boring at time because Caden did not want Kitten to touch him.

My biggest issue with this story was the lack of plot beyond the sex. This book only really got interesting toward the end of the book when it seemed a plot was just beginning the book ends and we find out the story will continue in another book.
