Twenty-seven-year-old Kendall Van Heusen is in awe of her new boss, and so she should be, because Mac Buchanan, the legendary thirty-eight-year-old newspaper magnate is as powerful and ruthless as rumor suggests. Incredibly handsome and charismatic, Mac is a self-made man who rules his empire with an iron fist. Deeply attracted by his dominant nature, Kendall realizes she needs to be on top of her game as his new financial controller.

It soon becomes apparent that they share a mutual sexual attraction. However, before they can act on their desires, Kendall receives a kidnap demand for the safe return of her best friend. Forced into stealing a million bucks from Buchanan Enterprises, she wrongly believes she can cover her tracks long enough to save Ashley’s life.

When Mac discovers the deception, he is angry and gives Kendall an ultimatum—spend time in jail, or become his personal sex slave until the debt is repaid in full. Unable to tell him the truth, will Kendall be blackmailed into the billionaire’s bed?

Review:  Blackmailed into the Billionaire’s Bed is the first book in the Carnal Sins series by Jan Bowles. I chose this book because I always enjoy reading books by Ms. Bowles.

Kendall Van Heusen is young considering the position she holds at work, Financial Controller. Kendall is smart and cultured and perfect for Mac Buchanan even though there is an eleven year age difference between the two. What surprised me the most is that Kendall when caught taking the money from Mac does not confess the reasons right away. I would have expected more honesty from Kendall than she showed.

Mac Buchanan is the head of a newspaper magnate. He is rich, powerful, and striking all wrapped up in one. He is known for being ruthless so Kendall taking money from him seems silly because she was bound to get caught. I give Mac credit because he does not turn her over to the police right away but is determined to get to know her to find out the reason.

The chemistry between Mac and Kendall is blistering. The sex scenes were hot and spicy. Mac and Kendall make a great couple. I loved that Mac was willing to find out the real reason for Kendall taking the money and willing to overlook it so he could get to know her.

I enjoyed this book a lot however I could not shake the feeling that there was more to Kendal’s friend Ashley and Karl story than what we knew. I expected more drama than that story line turn out to have. I did find this book well written with interesting and engaging characters. Overall, this was a good book.
