When Emma Grant returns to her family’s Audubon Springs beach house to fulfill the stipulations of her father’s will, she has every intention of forcing her former lover out of the house for good. She’s never fit into her wealthy family and would prefer avoiding her past, but with her brother threatening to reveal her young daughter, she has no choice.
Rafe Iuliano has other plans. The wealthy Grants tried to bribe him out of Emma’s life years ago, but he’s determined to prove once and for all that a master carpenter is worthy of Emma and the house.

Their ridiculous and steamy battle for the house reignites the love and passion that bloomed between them years ago. But when Rafe discovers she’s kept their daughter a secret for two years, can he overcome anger and pride to claim his family and the love of his life, or will the deception drive a final wedge between them?

Review:  Jersey Girl Emma Grant returns to Audubon Springs where some of her best memories were made, along with the man who broke her heart three years ago.  She has to spend two weeks in the beach house she inherited from her father in order to fulfill the will’s stipulations.  But the fly in the ointment: her dad also left the house to Rafe Iuliano, the heartbreaker in her past.  Emma has sworn to harden her heart and not let the caveman near her again, but one look at him has her melting faster than an ice cream cone on a hot July day on the boardwalk.  She has to keep her lips zipped (as well as her pants!) so he doesn’t find out about the secret she carried away three years ago – Rafe’s daughter.

Rafe never forgot Emma—the girl he loved has turned into a stunning woman.  But he can see that the Prada shoes and pounds of makeup are hiding the real woman.  He’s poured blood, sweat, and tears into making the mausoleum of a beach house her mother decorated into a warm and welcoming home.  For her.  Neither one can deny their attraction, and in one explosive night, secrets start to unravel.

I loved this book!  The author has a gift for taking us into her world of Audubon Springs.  She writes with a true depth of emotion, one that has the reader delving into the hearts and minds of the characters.  I could feel the heartbreak that both Emma and Rafe went through in their past, and what they still carry with them.

The story is told from the points of view of the two main characters, and it effectively serves to draw the reader into this world.  There’s a fun cast of characters in the inhabitants of this town, and I adore the Iuliano family. Papa Iuliano heads up the family, but Mama Iuliano rules them with an iron rolling pin and a loving heart.

This is the first in the Brothers of Audubon Springs series.  I’ve already read and reviewed the second in the series, and am anxiously waiting for the third one, which is brother Vince’s story.  Cousin Mia definitely has a story to tell, and I hope the author writes it soon!!
