Blissful Tragedy Dream Cast
I’d be lying if I said I’ve never fantasized about my book becoming a movie. Who doesn’t want to see their work of art hit the big screen? Truth be told, when I developed my characters I had a pretty good idea of exactly which actors they resemble. In fact, their looks and personality are loosely based on television and movie characters I’ve grown to love, with my own personal spices added.
First up is our hero of the story, Van Sinclair. Hot body, killer looks, and full of talent. Known as the bad boy who performs a ‘one night only’ show both on and off the stage and haunted by a troubled past. In my world, he is a mixture of Tim Riggins from Friday Night Lights, Sawyer from Lost, and Dean from Supernatural. Based on his personality and looks I’ve narrowed the casting down to two: Taylor Kitsch or Chris Hemsworth.
Blissful Tragedy is told through the eyes of Lexie Waters. She’s sweet but tough when she needs to be, looks like the girl next door, and has the ambitions of a CEO. She’s not all that trusting since she’s recently been burned by her ex, but still believes in love. As you can tell, I’m a huge Friday Night Lights fan and I think Minka Kelly would make a great Lexie Waters. She’s got the looks, spunk, and fire.
No woman is complete without her best friend and Brooke is chic, stylish, and loyal. I think Nina Dobrev would be the perfect choice for Brooke. Since Brooke is usually with her longtime boyfriend Dean, who has the All-American-Boy look, I think Chase Crawford would do his character justice.
Lexie’s sister, Sydney, is a few years older and about to get married to a rich lawyer named Bryce. Sydney is spirited and cute with a serious side. Jennifer Lawrence would be a great fit. Her handsome fiancé, Bryce, has the piercing blue eyes and GQ style could easily be played by Jared Leto.
When Lexie meets the band backstage, she’s exposed to a whole new world. Never in her wildest dreams did she think Jenna Crane would ever become her friend. Playmate body, killer style, and always willing to tell it how it is. Elisha Cuthbert has all the ingredients to portray a great Jenna.
Marcus Crane is Jenna’s husband, the bands guitar player, and Van’s best friend, who he considers a brother. He has an athletic body, eyes that can pierce your soul, and a heart of gold. If Van wasn’t the hot rocker of the group, Marcus would earn the title. Who else but Zac Ephron can pull off such a role.
The last two band members are Tyler and Chaz. Tyler has a true rocker look, with long blond hair and a few tattoos on his arms. He’s quiet but clearly a player. I picture him as Orlando Bloom in his role of Legolas (minus the elf ears). Chaz, the drummer, is rowdy, outspoken, and clearly a womanizer. He’s got buzzed cut brown hair, a plethora of muscles, and several tattoos. Kellan Lutz is sure to pull off a believable Chaz.
So there we have it, my dream cast for Blissful Tragedy. With all the eye candy in this movie, I may have to make it a 3-D event.
