Life as a college senior is stressful enough. Between mid-terms, stupid boys, and a rare blood condition, Eliza Landry is just trying to figure out what normal is—whatever that means—when she discovers that vampires aren’t just a thing of legend.

In a matter of moments, her life changes forever when she and her older sister Kate suffer a vampire attack which leaves Eliza with two puncture wounds on her neck and an allergy to sunlight. But she’s still human, or at least she thinks she is. It doesn’t really matter—her main concern is that her sister is missing.

Sorrow turns to obsession, leading Eliza to piece together the puzzle of that terrifying night. Even stumbling upon a millennia-old vampire assassin named Luke Conrad who either wants to kill her or kiss her (she can’t decide) cannot deter her.

When bodies start piling up and one of them is supposedly Kate, Eliza and Luke set out to discover who is behind the attacks. Soon, Eliza is drawn into the dark and dangerous world of the undead, with no guarantee she’ll make it out alive, and no doubt that she won’t like what she finds.

Review: All I can say about this book is that it was an awesome read. I couldn’t put it down and I just got so lost in it that when I reached the end I wanted more. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Eliza has been sick with something wrong with her blood since she was younger. She can’t do things that other people her age can do and she hates that. No one wants to go out with a girl that is sick all the time. She is glad that she has her sister Kate because she is always there for her. Sometimes she can be just a little over protective. Everything is going good until they go to a party one night. Everything changes after that. Kate has gone missing and Eliza has new powers that she never knew she had.

This book has so many surprises and it leaves you with more questions then answers. Just when you think you will be getting some answers even more happens and you are like what is going on. It seems everyone Eliza knows is keeping secrets. Who can she trust? She knows that her sister has turned into a vampire and is out to get her. She doesn’t understand why. The only person that she can turn to is Luke but she hates that he is a vampire and he keeps running hot and cold. I am going crazy to find out what happens next. I went to see when the next book comes out but have found nothing on it.

This book leaves you with a big cliff hanger with no end in sight. I am going crazy, so I guess I can understand where Eliza is coming from. She wants answers and so do I. I know that her grandma knows some things but she isn’t telling and now more people are keeping secrets. I feel like I am on an emotional roller coaster. I am asking myself do I really want to know what happens next? I was so hoping that things would work out between Eliza and Luke but he is letting her go. Seems like she is by herself and she only has her friend to talk to. She is still a little scared but she believes Eliza about the whole vampire story and that her sister is still walking around and isn’t dead.

I hope the next book will be out soon, so that I can rest a little better. I would recommend that everyone that loves vampires and mystery to read this book. It has a lot of unanswered questions and it will leave you guessing all the way to the very end.
