When he insists on being her crime-solving partner, she does everything she can to get rid of him—until she realizes his gift for smooth talking might come in handy when tracking down a killer. Before long, Finn has his hands full keeping Claire out of trouble, because the two of them together create more sparks than her faerie dust ever could…

Review: Trying to find a new paranormal take on things that doesn’t contain your normal vampires or werewolves tends to be a bit of a challenge at times.  I enjoy werewolves and vampires but once in a while I want to tread past the norm and find something different.  Regency romance meets faerie magic.  Paranormal with a new yet lighter twist; whimsical and fun.

Snowstorms…Sparks…Lost Innocence…Pregnancy…Ex-girlfriend…Murder…Mayhem…gives you plenty to consider in this magical story.

With faeries and gnomes that talk, what more can you ask for in a story?

From the first time Claire and Finn meet you feel as if you can believe in love at first sight.

Claire knew from the beginning things just would not work between them.  After all she herself was the product of a mixed relationship.  She was half human and half faerie growing up in the world of the fae because she had magic.  Claire became an endearing character with her whimsical, mischievous, impulsive nature that tended to get her into some trouble.  And that trouble was Finn.   Finn who happened to be a rakish playboy that was rather handsome as they tend to be.  The interaction between the two was real as you watched the prejudices they both had melt away over the course of the story.

Finn changes as he discovers Claire gone after a steamy night of sex.  She does stumble back into his life or should I say bedroom where they work together to save an ex-girlfriend from an unscrupulous character; and find out that they can’t ignore the magic that they have together.

Fate happens when we least expect it…even in this fast paced well written regency paranormal romance.  Simply a fast paced story of intrigue and passion with a blend of elements from the human and fae worlds. This was such a fun story that after reading this and finding that it is the second in the series I purchased the first one and I am looking forward to reading it.

So if different is something you crave.  Living outside the box of normalcy.  Wanting something that is different then I feel you will find Ms. Falkner’s The Magic of ‘I Do’ just what you might want.  I know I did.  Because I feel everyone deserves a little bit o’ magic in their lives.
