He won’t hesitate to put his life on the line…but will he ever risk his heart?

Falling for Justice Garrett was a high point in Patience McGraw’s otherwise awkward adolescence. Even after he disappeared, Patience never forgot the boy who captured her heart. Now he’s back in Fool’s Gold, California, and her passion for him is as strong as ever. But how can she trust that he won’t abandon her again—and her daughter, too?

When bodyguard Justice Garrett was a young man, witness protection brought him to this idyllic town and he never forgot its warmth, or the sweet beauty of his childhood friend. He’s returned to open a defense academy, and the Patience he once knew is all grown up. He can’t resist her smile, or her curves. But Justice’s past doesn’t make him husband, or father, material.

Patience and Justice think they’ll succumb to just one kiss… Then one more… Okay, just one night together. But they might learn that falling in love is beyond anyone’s control.

Review: I have read every single Fool’s Gold novel as soon as they came out. I adored Just One Kiss and was not disappointed in the latest addition to Fool’s Gold series. We meet Patience a single mother who hasn’t dated since her divorce. She does not know that her heart was taken by Justice, 15 years ago until he returns to town.

Justice is the tough guy who can’t get over the fact his father was a hateful and ruthless killer. He is strong and caring. The fact that he is caring is a character trait that he has to get used to to.

All the characters in Susan Mallery’s fictional town are very nice and wholesome. I’m always jealous of the friendships they women share and how helpful the town is. The town always seems like a town from the past where the neighbors look out for each other.

I love how Mallery threw in a bit of suspense at the end. I felt sorry for Justice with all his internal conflict. I hoped he came to his senses in the end. I loved how intense the passion and the love Patience and Justice had for each other. Their love scenes were very hot. I cannot wait for the next novel!

I agree Aubrey – great series plus I’m a cheerleader for Fool’s Gold.
I read Two of a Kind and Three Little Words already too and Three Little Words has become my all time favorite so far – even though I named a character (Annabelle, the librarian) and Susan gave her my last name since I was the contest winner. – LOL!

I always feel like I become a part of FG when I’m reading the books. If you liked Just One Kiss then you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Two Of A Kind! Ms. Susan outdid herself with that one.

I absolutely love the Fools Gold series. I hope Susan never tires of writing about this town and the people who live there. I loved Just One Kiss, but Two of a Kind was my favorite. I am also a cheerleader 🙂

I have read both of the new Fool’s Gold books this summer. Have loved both of them. Wish I could move to Fool’s Gold.

Once again I am in love with Fools Gold. Susan has an awesome gift! With each story she builds the community while keeping the story unique. Just one Kiss was great. And then I moved on to Two Of A Kind. I love Gideon and Felicia. If I’m completely honest mostly Felicia, she is so painfully honest I adore her. My favorite to date.

Sweet Review, like you I am also jealous of the relationships/community in Fool’ Gold, that is why I want to live there!! My ‘new’ favorite character is Felicia from “Two of a KInd”, she is hilarious. Susan Mallery wrote perfect dialogue for Felicia, the textbook, clinical way she approaches conversations with the other characters is outstanding! Its another great summer in Fool’s Gold!!

  9. I really like the Fool’s Gold series. It is one of the series I like the most due to the characters and town setting. Just One Kiss was excellent!

  10. Really love how this series is NOT getting old. It’s always fresh and full of new ideas. Other series from other authors I’ve put down and not gone back to because they try to micmic others. These books in this series keep you guessing, just when you think you know the outcome, surprise!

What a great review! I love this series! This was my favorite book yet! I just loved Felicia and Gideon’ s Story.

  12. Kortney says:

I agree this was a great book! Susan did a really great job with these two characters and I love how she introduced Felicia more in this book so when you get to Two of a Kind you have a backstory a little bit.

Cant wait for more new books from Susan to come!!
