Jen: Today we welcome Mary B. Morrison to Romancing the Book as she tells us all about her newest release under her pen name HoneyB. HoneyB, would you tell us a little bit about yourself?
HoneyB: I’m not afraid to die. I’m afraid not to live. I don’t fear failure. I’m terrified not to try. I’m honest, some may say to a fault but I say, “Stop me when I tell a lie.” I don’t swing from chandeliers but I have been to swingers clubs. Sexually, my mind is always opened wider than my legs.
Jen: Where did you come up with the idea for this book?
HoneyB: Each of my books start with a story idea, then I choose a fitting title. What the hell is a boys’ club supposed to mean? Well, I decided to pen TRGC because anything, and I do mean anything a man can do a woman can do better and that includes making love to a woman. TRGC unfolds how when women come together, they can outthink men. I have so many books in my head, I wish I had two heads. Being from New Orleans, we believe in the two headed lady. That’s another story in my head. LOL.
When money isn’t enough for Brooks Kennedy, Morgan Childs, Storm Dangerfield, and Hope Andrews, the women decide to take over the governor’s house in…
THE RICH GIRLS’ CLUB
California has never had a female governor and Morgan Childs is determined to change that with the help of her friends. Gathering the backing of the wealthiest women in California, she convinces her best friend, Brooks Kennedy, to run for governor.
Morgan’s campaign strategy is nontraditional, but she knows her plan to sexually blackmail each of Brooks’s opponents is virtually foolproof. Once she convinces the team of her tactics, they do whatever it takes to get incriminating evidence on Brooks’s opponents.
One by one each candidate is forced to withdraw from the governor’s race, and Morgan couldn’t be happier, until someone attempts to kill Brooks. With so many enemies, Brooks has no idea who wants her dead.
When a secret is revealed, Morgan feels betrayed and will stop at nothing to get revenge. Now, Brooks doesn’t know who to trust and the women stand to lose more than they bargained for.
Jen: Do you have any hobbies?
HoneyB: No, not really. I enjoy traveling, taking care of my Yorkie Max, and making love to my man but I’d hardly consider those hobbies.
Jen: Do you have a favorite scene The Rich Girls’ Club?
HoneyB: Yes. Opening chapter. Women should reverse roles when men are lazy in bed.
Jen: Do you have a favorite Character that you have written about? Why?
HoneyB: In TRGC, I love all of my characters but Brooks is my favorite. Where there is sex the readers will find Brooks involved. She’s extremely intelligent, rich, and has more secretes than any of her girlfriends.
Jen: Have you had to do any research for your books? If so do you have a favorite fact you have learned in your research?
HoneyB: I do research for all of my books. I travel to the city, in this case Los Angeles. I drive around town, take pictures, visit applicable places, attend events, talk with strangers, etc. The most interesting and fun part of my research for TRGC was my being a guest on Dr. Susan Block’s show with Stan Kent, the manager of all the Hustler Hollywood stores. There was also a porn star and an adult entertainment movie director and producer on the show. Awesome! I learned a lot.
Jen: What’s next for you?
HoneyB: My upcoming Single Moms series under Mary B. Morrison. My film deal with Lionsgate for my first novel, Soulmates Dissipate. Sharing time with the new love in my life. He’s amazing and so you! Thanks for your interview.
