Beauty resents being labeled Gift Species. Everyone is way too overprotective, males aren’t even allowed to speak to her and so far, true freedom eludes her. Then a big, sexy Species officer mistakes her for the enemy and takes her down—literally.

For Shadow, sex means pain and loathing. For Beauty, enslavement and ridicule. Two lonely souls who have never known a loving touch, together in a cabin in the woods. Every caress, every discovery brings them closer to a life they never thought possible…beyond even their wildest dreams.

Review:  Every time I read one of the New Species books I get two feelings.  The first feeling is excitement and a huge thrill. I am so happy to get my hands on the new book.  I know that Laurann will be bringing me more into the New Species world. I will be getting to meet more Species and getting to know their stories. I love getting to look back at the other New Species that I have read about and seeing how things are going.  The other feeling  I get is knowing that I will soon reach the end of the book and will be on pins and needles.  I’ll be wondering who will be next or is this the last one and I hope that it doesn’t happen anytime soon.  So, I made myself read this story really slow since I didn’t want the story to be over too soon.

I already knew the backgrounds for both Shadow and Beauty and was happy to see these two put together. They both had past sexual experiences that were negative and I believe that they were put together because of that.  I am, however, worried about Moon and  I hope that they find a way to help him.
