After a grueling approval process, Malik, a powerful Frost Keeper, is allowed to claim the Flame Heiress as his mate. He is sent to Dimension 939-3 (Earth), more than ready for the erotic bonding ritual, and expecting a fully trained Flame Keeper.

Cayenne Dover has lived a quite life in New Orleans, unaware of her true abilities, but the first brush of Malik’s cool fingers against her feverish skin sets her senses on fire. She doesn’t understand half of what he says, yet her body recognizes the elemental attraction of her “equal and opposite”.

One night in Malik’s arms convinces Cayenne they are meant to be together. Still, powerful forces are at work in their home dimension and on Earth. The secrets locked in Cayenne’s past could create a lasting peace, or lead to a bloody civil war.

Review:  Cayenne is a great second book to a series.

Cayenne is a woman that just takes everything as it is. That is what it seems to me. She doesn’t second guess anything. She’s pretty down to earth. She’s smart and seems to have a good head on her shoulders.

Malik had to go through a lot to be able to mate with Cayenne. Some that would be very embarrassing to us. I guess you can tell that he passed. He goes to Earth to find his mate and do what he needs to do. Well it seems that he wasn’t told that she knew nothing about who and what she is. Above all else she’s not expecting him.

I liked that we learn a little bit more in this book. You get to see more into the difference between Frost and Flame Keepers. You get to see more into the mating process and what it entails.

I just couldn’t believe that Cayenne thought that everything that was happening to her was a man in her imagination. She seems to take him at his word. She believes him when he tells her about herself and that she is his mate. I guess their souls just clicked.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little longer than the first one. I found out a little more but not too much.  Of course, the author needs to keep the readers coming back to find out what else happens. So it has a little suspense to it. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Will we find out anything new? The sex scenes where pretty hot and cold but in a good way. Only the kind of sex that Frost and Flame Keepers can have.
