Dr. Trisha Norbit is flat on her back in a hospital bed, pinned under a really big New Species male. Though drugged out of his mind, he promises her ecstasy and is determined to deliver-but hospital staff intervenes. 215 is a man Trisha will never forget. But, when she meets him again at Homeland…he doesn’t even remember her!

The nosy new doctor wants to know all about the breeding habits between humans and Species. Slade proposes a hands-on education but she’s not interested in a one-night stand. He can’t offer more because he’s haunted by the memory of a woman he once tried to claim. He’s shocked when he realizes they are one and the same. He’s blown it-she’ll never give a chance now.

But, when her life is in danger, he’s the only one who can save her. As they flee through the wilderness, their desire ignites and cannot be denied. Hot sex, on the run has consequences that are even more dangerous and will change their lives forever.

Review:  I’m really loving the New Species books. The second one which is called Slade, is even better than the first.

Trisha is a doctor and is always taken for being a snob. She always gets the patients that no one else does. All because she graduated at 14 and went straight to college and was done before anyone else usually gets into college. She is smart and sassy and she can take care of herself.

Slade just knows that there is something about Trisha that sets him off. He knew that when he was in the hospital that he had found his mate. So what is it about Trisha that gets him so turned on?

I really enjoyed this book and knew when I read the first one in the series that I had found a new author that I liked. I get so into the action and suspense that seem to be apart of each story. I guess it can’t just be about falling in love because nothing is ever easy.

The characters were really connected and Slade had to do some groveling to get back on Trisha’s good side. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t make anymore mistakes. He’s male so he will. I liked that I got to read some more about old characters and I got to meet new ones.

In this book it reminded me a lot about my husband and I. The way that they banter back in forth is the way we do it. It’s just so funny to read about it. I laughed a lot through this book even though it did have some serious issues. Let’s just say if I ever got into a situation that these are the men that I’d want on my side and not my enemy.

I love the way that they are very protective of their mates even around each other. They take after their animal side with that. The human side doesn’t show as much. This book gets really exciting and I can’t say anything because I will give it away and I don’t want to ruin it for anyone.

I will just say that I can’t wait for the next adventure and I really want to find out what happens next. I was left hanging at the end. I know that I have to be kept in suspense so I’ll read the next one. Well I’m hooked and I will be looking for the next one.

This book is filled with suspense, danger, action, and of course sex. I will warn you that it almost has a rape scene in it. So I warned you, but don’t let that stop you from reading such a wonderful series.
