Romancing the Blog: The Attic Girl

Today we welcome Shelly from The Attic Girl to our Romancing the Blog event.

Jen: Will you tell us a little more about the people behind the blog?
Shelly: I’m a work-at-home mom of two; a teen and a toddler who are the joys of my life. My other “baby” is my blog called The Attic Girl; so named after our e-Bay store. I’m also a former third grade teacher, mountain dew addict, fan of all things Austen, and major book nerd. You can find me on Facebook, twitter  and blogging at http://www.atticgirl.com.

Jen: How did you start blogging?
Shelly: I initially started blogging to feed my book habit. I stumbled upon my first book review group on one of my favorite author’s blogs and knew I had to join. My blog has since progressed from focusing on just books to branching out with mom-focused products and topics. But books are my first love!

Jen: If you had to recommend one book to our readers, what would it be and why?
Shelly: I would recommend my favorite book Pride & Prejudice because every girl needs a little Mr. Darcy in her life!

Jen: Is there anything you’d like to ask our readers?
Shelly: What is your favorite place to read? (mine’s the beach!)

Many thanks to Shelly for stopping by today to tell us about The Attic Girl. Our event long contest is still running. Leave a comment and fill out the Rafflecopter form to enter.

I love to read anywhere and everywhere. But, I really like taking a little time each day to quiet read. That usually means eating while I eat lunch at the kitchen table. I find I really miss it on days that I can’t make the time.

My favorite place to read is my bed, I love to curl up in bead, lots of pillows and a good book (either print or ebook). Add a cool drink and a snack (chocolate) and it is even better.

I do enjoy reading on the beach too. It is so relaxing but we don’t get there much so my favorite everyday place is on the living room couch.

thanks for a fun post! It was nice to “meet” a new to me blogger.

The beach would be my dream place to read but for now I’d read in my fav recliner w/ my laptop on the side table and my puppy in my lab 🙂

  5. Those are all great places to read! I also need a pretty quiet place to really concentrate. Thanks for all the great comments! (theatticgirl)
