In a world where men can become dragons, Thoren is one of the most powerful. As a shape-shifting Draconi, Thoren wants nothing more than to continue searching for Halfling children and returning them to Draconia. The last thing he wants or needs is a mate-until he meets Keara, an outcast unaware of the power that lies within her.
Keara doesn’t know what to make of Thoren or of the magic he practices. She learned early to keep her magic hidden-her witchy red hair and green eyes are burden enough. When Thoren offers his hand in place of a forced marriage with Lord Simon, Keara jumps at the chance to leave her town behind. But she fears Thoren will shun her when he discovers the truth about her abilities.
Can Thoren convince Keara she is his lifemate, or will her secret talent be the wedge that drives them apart?
Review: Magical Lover is a book about a place called Draconia. A place where men shape-shift into Dragons.
Draconia is a magical place where the men protect their women, who usually have more magic then the men. Men can go and sleep with just about anyone and create Halflings. Women on the other hand aren’t supposed to sleep with anyone but their mates. It’s important that every male find their lifemate.
Thoren is a powerful shape-shifter, whose job is to go find all the Haflings and bring them back to Draconia. While he is looking for a male Halfling he runs into Keara. He doesn’t know it at the time but she’s his mate.
Thoren fights everything within himself to not give into his Dragons urges to make Keara his mate. He wants to be able to do his job longer because he enjoys it. Keara has been brought up that the magic that she has is evil. She doesn’t know that she’s a Halfling. Her grandma raised her after her mother dies and she never knew her father.
She has always felt that everything she does with her secret healings is bad. She has fallen in love with Thoren but is afraid when he finds out what she can really do he will not want her.
I love watching Keara come into her powers after they’re unlocked. Watching a big strong Dragon depend on a little woman tohelp him go through his change, because without her he would be stuck in dragon form. I also love how they can get from one place to another. If I had that kind of way to transport, my life would be so much easier.
I’m hoping that the author decides to make this into a series because a lot of people’s story lines has been left open. Magic Lover is a great start for a series to start.
I would love to live in Draconia and have magic, so if I broke some furniture it would magically come together again like it was before.
I’ll be waiting to see if there will be more to read about these Dragon shape-shifters.
