Kissin’ Tell Tour: Interview & Contest with Lorelei James

I’m happy to welcome Lorelei James to Romancing the Book today as her tour makes a stop here.

Jen: Where do your ideas come from?
Lorelei: I buy them in bulk and Costco and then piece them out over the course of the year. Seriously, I’ve been asked that question many, many times and I still don’t know how to answer. I fear if I dissect the idea fairy—aka pull off her wings to see how she flies, then she’ll stop coming around, so I leave her be.

Jen: What did you do before becoming a writer?
Lorelei: I worked in the firearms industry.

Jen: Do you suffer from writer’s block?
Lorelei: No. I occasionally suffer from writer’s “I don’t wanna”— meaning, I want to goof off and not work. But deadlines have a way of forcing the muse to get off her lazy butt and quit making excuses. That said, some books are just harder to write than others and I push through the difficult parts.

Lorelei is giving away a set of romance trading card and “Official McKay Buckle Bunny” buttons to one lucky commenter.  No need to leave your email address in your comment as it’s required for both comment on our site as the Rafflecopter form.  Contest is international and our winner will be chosen on Sunday, July 1.
