Aubrey: What new books do you have coming out?
Marie: My latest book is Season for Love, book 6 in the McCarthys of Gansett Island Series. After that will be book 7, Longing for Love. I’m also finishing up the latest Fatal Series book, Fatal Attack, which will be book 5 in the series.
Aubrey: You recently left your corporate job to write full, how has that been for you?
Marie: I love it! Writing full time is a dream come true in every possible way. I couldn’t be happier.
Aubrey: How has your interacting with your readers helped with your writing?
Marie: Regular interaction with my readers has given me ideas about what they like and don’t like, and I’ll be writing a fourth book in the Treading Water series because they asked for it.
Aubrey: Do you ever want to write in a different genre? What genre do you not want to write in?
Marie: I’m a romance writer. That’s it! I do write in several forms of romance: contemporary, romantic suspense, historical and erotica, although I’m only thus far published in the first two.
Aubrey: Do you like to read outside of the genre that you generally write in?
Marie: I only read romance.
Aubrey: Are you going to any of the upcoming conferences?
Marie: I’ll be at the Romance Writers of America annual conference in Anaheim in late July and the New Jersey Romance Writers conference in early October.
Aubrey: How do you feel about your almost cult-life following?
Marie: LOL—that’s the second time today the word “cult” has been used to describe my reader following. I’m thrilled and delighted by their enthusiasm for my books. They, too, are a dream come true!
About Season for Love:
His idea of permanence is the VW van that takes him from one gig to the next. . .
Owen Lawry has made a living as a traveling musician and enjoys his footloose and fancy free lifestyle. But after meeting Laura McCarthy and helping her to land the job as manager of his grandparents’ hotel on Gansett Island, Owen decides there’s something to be said about a roof over his head and a warm, sexy woman in his bed.
Laura, a newlywed who discovered that her husband never quit dating, came to Gansett for her cousin’s Janey’s wedding, but ended up staying after she met Owen and took on the renovations to the dilapidated Sand & Surf Hotel.
As Owen and Laura’s attraction simmers during months of close proximity, they form a tight bond that will be tested when her estranged husband refuses to grant her a divorce. As summer turns to autumn and Laura and Owen take baby steps toward love, favorite characters from past Gansett Island stories continue to live their happily ever afters.
