“I anxiously looked around, my heart palpitating, just in time to see an alligator slink into the green algae covered water that was on either side of us. I swallowed hard, and my heart raced even faster. Alligators were a different type of predator—the one thing I was afraid of. Now I was on my own personal swamp tour. What if my kidnappers left me in the middle of a swamp with five of them creeping up on me? I’ve had that nightmare before and—oh no, if my dreams really are a sign of the future—I couldn’t breathe now.”

Adriana couldn’t decide what was worse—that Hurricane Katrina was heading for New Orleans, or that she might not survive her kidnapping to see its potential effects. She had trusted Hayden, even fallen for him, and now he and his brother Luke were taking her deeper and deeper into the Bayou. Why had two of her classmates, the mysterious Boudreaux brothers, kidnapped her? Why had Adriana’s dreams started predicting the future? Most importantly, would she make it out of the Bayou alive…

Review:  Paranormal, Voodoo, Spells. When I first started reading this story I was almost in the frame of mind of the Twilight books.

We find Adriana, a high school student just trying to get to graduation. She has been having visions and when they start coming true it is scary. She can’t go to her dad he is wrapped up in his own life. Her friends well let say in high school to be different just isn’t that cool.

Adriana thinks that they are nothing more than dreams that happen to come true. School is starting for the year and if that isn’t bad enough there is a hurricane looming in the distance. It is set to be a catastrophic one. Which it turns out to be and rips New Orleans apart.

Two new brothers, who happen to be very hot, end up arriving at school. Adriana had a dream about them the night before. All the girls want them but they seem to be connected in some way to Adriana.

As the storm gets closer the boys tend to pay attention to Adriana. The youngest Hayden, falls for Adriana but he has a mission is it is hard to keep the two separate. Luke on the other hand seems to have a chip on his shoulder, not wanting to steer from the reason that they are there and that is to protect Adriana.

They end up kidnapping her, taking her to the swamp to a voodoo lady and end up in Tampa where the boy’s parents are. By this time things have been told to Adriana and she is excepting of the situation. She is already in love with Hayden but soon she finds that Luke isn’t as awful as he seems he also is deeply in love.

Ms. Duncan writes a lovely love story that surrounds you with all the aspects of young love. Sweet and gently romantic with a twist of the paranormal thrown in. To find out which one of the brothers Adriana chooses you will just have to read to read the story yourself to find out.
