Marie Kincaid is devastated after losing her family in a violent crash…so she runs. One morning, she awakes in an infirmary with total memory loss and a new power: Glazier. The cold frozen mists of Glazier’s instincts enable Marie to embark on a new life free of pain but most importantly free of the past. Heightened senses, accelerated strength, speed, and learning abilities make Marie a perfect candidate to be a spy…also a perfect companion for Henry Tenison, the only other known Glazier.

Henry, a loner and proud rogue finds his world upended when his connection to Marie is forged. Unsure of how to progress, he endeavors to keep it strictly professional. As far away missions and romantic surroundings entice him into pursuing his deeper desires, he caves. However, Marie’s love changes everything.

Determined to free them both of the spy world and the hold Glazier has over their lives, Henry implements a plot to disappear. However, when things become dangerous in their latest mission and memories of Marie’s past surface suggesting another man…will Henry’s efforts come too late? If Marie remembers her past, will she still want their future?

Cover/title: Loved the cover!
Review: I liked this book from the get go! I really liked how Marie’s character was shielded from painful memories by the entity named Glazier throughout the entire story. It made for a very interesting dilemma for the guy who falls hard for her, Henry. He knows that she has painful memories and knows that if she remembers them, she may no longer want him in her life…and so begins the game of cat and mouse between them.

While a good part of the story explains how Marie discovers her hidden abilities and is trained to use them, it was the mission they go on that hooked me. She and Henry are undercover spies sent to infiltrate the home of a very powerful man. From the moment he lays eyes on her, Ambassador Abbass, a man used to getting anything he wants, has malicious intentions. Both she and Henry know and suspect he will do anything he can to get Marie alone. Henry and Marie constantly battle the Glazier power they have as time and again the Ambassador thwarts their efforts to find what they need to complete their mission. My love of this story, a horse, enters the picture and plays a very important part in Marie’s efforts to finish the mission, as well as two friends she and Henry meet also staying at the Ambassador’s estate.

A very enjoyable story that leaves you breathless and hanging until the last word and I’m very, very glad to say that the author has written a sequel that will be released later this year!!!

Quote: Ambassador meeting Marie and Henry for the first time:
He introduced himself with a gracious bow. “I am Ambassador Ahmad Abbass. You grace my house with your presence. Welcome.” He addressed both of us, but his eyes assaulted me. Page 103

Henry to Marie:
“You have no idea the effect you have on me do you?” he answered no longer smiling. I shook my head no. “Before I came in, I could hear you laughing. It was like the music of a rare symphony. I stood outside the door enjoying the melody for a few secs before I entered. Then when you started laughing after I jumped on the bed and I beheld what I heard. You redefine beauty. You’re my sunrise, casting a golden light on everything I have ever known. What you don’t understand is that before you came into my life, everything I knew was gray, dark, and boring. Now that you have opened my eyes, I will never see the same as long as I have you.” Page 139

Advice: An entertaining afternoon read!
