I’m Stacey! Okay, so something about me…hmmmm…I am a 40-something mother of two boys – ages 19 and 11. I live in the US and have been married for 22 years as of August 3rd to a man who supports all the craziness I’m about to tell you.
I am an avid reader of contemporary romances. My personal favorites are the Harlequin/Silhouette Desire books mainly because they are fast reads but if it’s good and it’s a contemporary, then I want to read it. I also write contemporary romances; I have four complete novels and no agent willing to help me. I’m hoping that’s just a temporary situation. I was a top-five finalist in the Harlequin Desire Editor’s Pitch Challenge and even though they ultimately did not offer a book deal, I still remain hopeful that I don’t suck. I teach creative writing classes to high school aged homeschoolers (and some of their moms!). I used to do it in person out of my home but I just recently switched over to an online format. So far, it’s worked out great.
I do a lot of freelance writing (although I think to really count as freelance, I would be getting paid – which I am not!). I’ve written stuff for Examiner.com, Digg, E-how, my own blogs (I have three) plus I do a TON of writing for several Disney related blogs because I am an EXTREME fan of Walt Disney World.
I work outside of the home, as well, as a customer service rep for a logistics/transportation company 30 hours a week so it’s amazing that I have time to write at all!
Whew! I’m tired just thinking about me! Anyway, I am looking forward to writing for Romancing the Book because I do love to share about the books I’ve read. My favorite authors include Susan Mallery, Nora Roberts, Emilie Rose, Maureen Child, Robyn Carr and Kristin Higgins.
