Retribution: Is love worth the cost?
Rave Anders lost everything – his job, his lover, and part of his soul. Accused of a crime he didn’t commit, it’s taken him years to build up a respectable intergalactic transport business. Pulled into a web of intrigue and espionage, Rave is forced to face ex-lover Kain Sims, the one man he no longer trusts.
On a mission for the Alliance, Kain must convince Rave the fate of a world rests in both their hands. Kain needs Rave to help to destroy a deadly weapon before it can be used to eradicate a planet. But that’s the easy part; the hard part is making Rave believe he never wanted to leave him in the first place.
Can they save a world and reclaim the love they once shared, in a galaxy of deception?
Review: I love a good intrigue mixed in with some science fiction – some hot loving – and this book surely did not disappoint. After two years of thinking Kain is dead, Rave finally thinks he was over him until he walks back into his life and starts to explain how everything from the beginning was a set-up. Rave does not trust anyone but Sela, who is Kain’s cousin, and his sister. It is very difficult and frustrating to let anyone in his life with all that he went thru, especially when he was in prison for 30 days. When he thinks Kain has betrayed him again he rights off the man for good…or so he thought. The author was excellent in displaying the inner demons Rave struggled with and showing how trust really is most important, how sometimes love can conquer all. The chemistry between Rave and Kain was undeniable from the start, emotionally and physically…and the physical part does get steamy in this book. Man alive those scenes were scorchers. This one is a sure page turner with all the twist, could not put it down. There are other characters introduced and the author does hint to what might be coming next. Jambrea Jo Jones has become an auto-buy for me, she is simply wonderful.
