Hi, I’m Shannon. I love to read and generally consume at least a book a day. I read many different genres within romance: paranormal/urban fantasy, historical, chick lit/women’s fiction, mystery/suspense and erotica. I’ve come a long way from the days when I only read Patricia Cornwall, Michael Crichton, Anne Rice and Stephen King novels (I thank my book club for that…thanks ladies!). In addition to reviews on Romancing the Book, you can find my book reviews on my blog at www.cocktailsandbooks.com and also on my GoodReads, Facebook and Twitter profiles.
My iPad is generally overflowing with too many ebooks that need to be read over various E-Reader apps (here’s the list as of today: iBooks, B&N, Kindle, BAM Reader, Bluefly Reader, Overdrive Media Console, Borders, Google Books. Don’t say it, I know I’m obsessive).
If I had to pick an all-time favorite book, I’d say it has to be Rachel’s Holiday by Marian Keyes. I loved the character of Rachel, who despite her insistence there was nothing wrong with her, stuck with the program and grew as a person. It’s a wonderfully written book and has that English sense of humor that I enjoy. I could read this one over and over again and never grow bored.
I live in Southern California, where I ran to escape those awful lake effect winters in Upstate New York (US), reading one of my many TBR books, possibly a drink in hand when not working as a Recruitment Training Consultant, or having family time with my husband and two boys.
