Hi, I’m JoAnne and I am an avid reader who enjoys most genres but I especially love romance – contemporary, historical – both regency and western, chick-lit, romantic suspense as well as mysteries, general fiction and some non-fiction. I especially love series and connected stories with characters I’ve grown to love and books with themes of knitting and quilting, although I was unsuccessful in learning to knit and have never quilted! I also like books with billionaires or a western theme with cowboys thrown in.
I read books in print format and eBooks – I have had a Nook for several years and recently received a Kindle as a gift and will soon be downloading books to it – but still like the feel of a book in my hands.
I’m married and live in New England (US) with my husband and grown son but was born in New York and love to travel – especially to warm climates – but have lots of places in the US and Europe that are on my bucket list. I have a large extended family and we get together as often as practical. When not reading I talk to many friends and family about books we love.
My favorite book is hard to choose but I love Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell and The Help by Kathryn Stockett. The Chesapeake Shores series by Sherryl Woods and the Fool’s Gold series by Susan Mallery are a couple of my favorite series and I was lucky to be a Fool’s Gold Cheerleader for two years. Among my favorite authors not mentioned above are Susan Wiggs, Nora Roberts, Erin Nicholas, Sandy James and Linda Lael Miller. I don’t have a blog and don’t see one in my future but love Facebook where I enjoy “talking” with some of my favorite authors and also keep track of books I read on GoodReads.
I have enjoyed every minute of writing reviews for Romancing the Book since May 2011 and love the “team” I work with as well as the chance to be introduced to the books of so many new to me authors – many of whom are now part of my ever growing to be read pile.
